Will GTA 6 Support DLSS on PC? (What We Expect)

Will GTA 6 support DLSS, FSR, and XeSS on PC? No upscaling support has been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games. But based on industry standards in 2024-2026, the modding-friendly history of GTA V, and the pressure consoles put on cross-platform rendering, we strongly expect FSR 3, DLSS 3.5, and XeSS to all ship in some form at PC launch. Here’s what to expect.

The official word from Rockstar

As of today, Rockstar has not published any PC-specific feature list for GTA 6. The console reveal trailer only showcased PlayStation 5 footage. Until Rockstar publishes the PC trailer (historically 6-12 months before PC launch), every prediction about upscaling tech is informed speculation.

Why we expect all three at launch

1. FSR 3 is nearly guaranteed

Both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S use AMD RDNA 2 GPUs, and Rockstar will almost certainly use FSR 2 or FSR 3 on console to hit 60 FPS targets. That upscaler then ports trivially to PC, so AMD and Intel users get FSR for free. FSR 3’s frame generation is also driver-level on RDNA 3+ which makes it even more likely.

2. DLSS 3.5 is the AAA standard

Every major AAA release in 2024-2026 ships with DLSS, including Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Starfield (post-launch patch), Black Myth: Wukong, and Indiana Jones. Rockstar’s PC port team will not ship without it — the marketing and reviewer feedback would be devastating.

3. XeSS may follow as a patch

Intel XeSS support is increasingly common as a third option, especially since it runs on all GPU vendors. We rate XeSS as likely but not certain at launch — more likely in a post-launch patch.

What this means for your hardware

NVIDIA RTX 20-series or newer: You will get DLSS Super Resolution.

NVIDIA RTX 40-series: You will get DLSS 3.5 with Frame Generation — likely the biggest framerate uplift on the market.

AMD RX 6000 or newer: FSR 2/3 will be available, with frame generation on RX 7000.

Intel Arc: XeSS native, plus likely FSR support.

Frequently asked questions

Are GTA 6 PC requirements official yet?

No. Rockstar Games has not confirmed PC system requirements. Every estimate on this page is based on modern open-world game trends, current console hardware specs, and the patterns Rockstar has used historically with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.

When will GTA 6 release on PC?

No official PC release date has been announced. Rockstar’s pattern with GTA V and RDR2 was a 1-2 year gap after console release. See our GTA 6 PC release date analysis for the full timeline.

Will I need a new GPU for GTA 6?

Probably not if you already own a modern mid-range card. Check our Best GPU for GTA 6 guide for current recommendations across budgets.
